Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: May 6, 2026.

In the spirit of full transparency — and in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR Part 255 (“Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising”), here’s exactly how affiliate links work on The KristiKay Diary.

Some links on this site are “affiliate links”. If you click one and end up purchasing a product, the merchant (Amazon, a brand’s own store, an affiliate network, etc.) may pay me a small commission. This commission comes out of the merchant’s marketing budget — it does not increase the price you pay. You get the same item for the same price you’d get if you’d typed the URL directly.

How I decide what to recommend

Every product covered on the site is selected for editorial reasons first, and only then evaluated for whether an affiliate program is available. The order is never reversed. Concretely:

  • I write about the product because I think it’s worth covering. If a product doesn’t earn its place in a guide on its own merits, no commission rate will change my mind.
  • I do not accept paid placements disguised as editorial. If a piece of content is sponsored, it’s labeled clearly at the top of the article. Affiliate links are not sponsorships.
  • A negative review with affiliate links is still a negative review. If a product disappoints, I say so — even if the affiliate link is still there for context.
  • No “free product = guaranteed positive review.” Brands send samples; that fact is disclosed when relevant. The samples are tested honestly and the verdict is whatever the testing shows.

In every post that contains affiliate links, you’ll see a disclosure callout near the top of the article. We also avoid silent redirects — link destinations are visible on hover, and we don’t dress affiliate links up to hide their nature.

What programs we participate in

The site is enrolled (or may enroll in the future) with general affiliate networks and individual brand programs across beauty, fashion, and wellness. Specific programs change over time, so we don’t list every one here — but they’re all standard “click a link, the merchant attributes the sale” relationships, with no special data-sharing arrangements beyond what each program’s standard terms specify.

How to support the site

Click any of our affiliate links before you buy something you were going to buy anyway. That’s it. There’s no membership, no paywall, and your behavior on the merchant site is between you and them. I never see your card or address.

If you’d rather not click an affiliate link, you can also support us by:
